TPMS (24084)

Hi All
What a day! This morning I called the hospital and questioned an $8,800 bill I had received. The lady checked it and said it was a billing mistake and I should ignore it.
Later the UPS Tuck stopped and delivered four TPMS systems. I have three of them programmed, there are a couple discrepancies which I'm sure can be ironed out. I'm short some sensors, long some sensor wrenches, one readout screen is bad, and I don't understand one of them, but I have them and that is the important thing. Todd is evidently doing what he needs to do to make his shipments. I was plenty concerned he had run for the border with all our money.

Ciao
Jack

After waiting 4 months for my TPMS from Trucker Parts Store I installed it to find that half
the sensors didn't work. I called Tina and was advised to return the system for a refund. It's
now been 7 weeks and after I called today to find out what has happened to the refund I was
advised that I would have to request it through VISA. Needless to say VISA said they wouldn't
be able to do anything about it because of the length of time involved.
This was an expensive lesson and a warning to anyone who is thinking of dealing with them.
I also notice that their website is no longer available.

I just saw the following post on rv.net:

"I am knowing this forum also by google search, we are the
manufacturer for the tire pressure monitor system you are talking
about, we have contacting with him since last Dec., but recently,
we didn't hear from them for a long time.until now, we didn't
receive the balance from them, I sent email, no reply, try to call
him, just leave message. I am not sure what happened between our
company and SAF-TTE. we are very worried now.

"If you have more information about SAF-TTE, please let me know.
Thanks in advance.

Alan,

I think it a minor blessing that the truckers' store just goes away.

They are more than just incompetent, remember the post about sending
them credit card info, as they thought THEY were the object of a
scam?

I would lean on Visa to contest these charges, as the way it was
handled, they should help you out.

Tell them that you were billed way before the mdse was shipped, I'll
bet their files are full of Truckers store complaints.

Call Visa back and tell them that even though your card was charged months
ago, the product just arrived and you are/have returned it. We've been
successful several times disputing a charge that way. We do huge amounts of
business travel with our Chase Visa and they were not about to lose us as a
customer. If the first person you talk to doesn't go for it, ask for a
supervisor.

This is a lesson to be learned by all of us. I sent repeated posts when
the fact that credit cards were being charged well in advance of even
promised delivery that the charges should be disputed and thereby
cancelled. I have absolutely no reason to believe that there was
dishonesty on the part of the vendor. But a warning sign came from a
competitor TPMS who said that there have been many startups that ended
up in failure because the business dealings with the Chinese companies
fell apart. Whether the vendors should now be in a position to make all
its customers whole is for someone else to figure out. But it is far too
risky for me to ever let someone charge my credit card ahead of delivery
of a product or service. If a charge shows up on my first billing cycle
and no delivery of product or no completion of service, out goes a
dispute letter immediately.

BTW Alan, don't give up hope. It may be resolved satisfactorily eventually.

After spending 45 minutes on the phone with VISA their response was this. They can do
nothing about it as the original order was in January and is outside their jurisdiction. I
asked if VISA could put pressure on SAF-T Corp and they said it was a different section of
the company and they didn't have their number (merchant issues). It appears that it was a
good lesson about purchasing products online with a VISA card.

The company is referring you to Visa as I don't think they have the
money to pay you. I have never heard of a company telling someone to
go back to Visa for a refund as the company usually credits your
Visa card.
