City Horn? (265041)
All,In my owners manual (2006 Diplomat 40DST) there is a description, and on the Smart Wheel there is a button for a “city horn”. It also shows in the electrical schematics. I assume this is an electric horn, but for the life of me I can’t find the actual electric horn, or where the wiring for it terminates.?Has anyone encountered said “city horn”, or is that an option that never made it to my coach? Thanks,ScottyPS - my air horn works fine, but sometimes it’s a little over the top... Re: City Horn? (265044)
Scotty,Have you tried pressing the City Horn button and the actual horn at the same time, or in sequence?I’ve heard of a switch that is used to disable the air horn in favor of a car-type horn for use in cities that forbid air horns. ?Same cities that forbid exhaust or engine brakes.?John V06 Knight 40 DFD On Nov 27, 2019, at 8:15 PM, Scotty Hutto smhutto@... Re: City Horn? (265046)
My coach does NOT have any “city” horns, only the air horns which I love to use when needed as it really gets peoples attention quickly. However, we recently visited with friends of ours who own a Tiffin Zephyr that does have both city and air horns located on the front fire wall. So I am sure that there is a button for each one or a switch to toggle between them on their coach ?I have yet to see a Monaco that has both city and air horns installed. ?Richard S.02 Windsor PBTFlagler Beach FL ? ?From: Monacoers@yahoogroups.com Sent: Wednesday, November 27, 2019 11:13 PMTo: monacoers@yahoogroups.comSubject: [Monacoers] City Horn?? Interesting
.I agree with Richard.? Hit the HORN and get noticed
..some people do nor realize that the MH does NOT have the same stopping power as my C7 Z51 Vette. ?On a more whimsical note
..I once traveled the day after Christmas from NC to Florida down I-95.? At every rest stop, there was a convoy of Clemson Fans (easily recognized in the ORANGE JUMP SUITS or “Fire Suits” which were adorned with all sorts of TIGER logos and depictions).? They also had MH’s and SUV’s.? I had an NCSU Sticker on the back of my pop-up Starcraft. ?THAT was like a RED CAPE to a teenage, oversexed bull
as Clemson was playing for a National Championship on New Years and the fans were going to enjoy the Miami location
. ?As I drove through the parking lots (which were not as spread out as today’s rest stops), once someone spotted my Wolfpack Decal, they hit their “Horns”.? MOST (this is NOT an exaggeration
.I have two adult children and a DW that vividly remember it and laugh when I start the story)
.? The horns were small amplified devices with a variety of “tunes”.? One was Tiger Rag or “Hold that Tiger”.? I think that the Clemson Booster Club sold them or gave them away when you made a substantial donation. ?These were powered amps with trumpets and horns mounted behind the grills
..much like an LEO has
. ?Once the “forward observer” sounded the alarm (like a beaver slapping the water), the others would then serenade
.you could hear the echoes at least a mile down the highway.? I read the above to DW and she approved it and said it was NOT an embellishment
. ?SO
.I guess NOW they could hook them up to their “City Horn” button and have a ball

I? think any Monaco with an alarm system had a city horn. These would work also if parked with no air pressure. My 99 Signature SSSD has one. From: "Monacoers" To: "Monacoers" Sent: Thursday, November 28, 2019 6:31:06 AMSubject: RE: [Monacoers] City Horn? ?
