Converting to a Residential Refrigerator Discussion (265164)

Post by Yahoo_Upload » 03 Dec 2019 07:38

OK
.we Moderators and Owners have talked. Here is the deal. Whenever a Member Inquires about replacing the "NOT SO COLD, FIRE BELCHING ABSORBTION REFRIGERATOR" with a Residential Refrigerator the Discussion always has morphed into a life of its own especially about wether a certain Residential (RES) Refrigerator (REF)can be used with a Modified Sine Wave(MSW) or Pure Sine Wave Inverter (PSW) and has become a PITA. Bottom Line
..from Personel Experiences, the OVERWELMING posts and listening to MANY discussions
The Modified Sine Wave inverters work
with very few if any issues
. most RES REF will work on a Modified Sine Wave Inverter. IF the Manufacturer says NO
.then, DON’T DO IT. If you have a 4 bank battery set and IF you have average or good (will hold 85 – 90% of State of Charge
.and there is an easy way to test
.but we are not gonna repeat that but will assist members offline)
.then you are GOOD TO GO. You will have to CRANK and RUN the Genny at least once per day
.unless you are high demand user. Kill your standby on the TV and Sat and such and limit your consumption and put in LED lights. Even if you do not do that
.you might have to crank at bedtime and again in the morning. The decision to upgrade to a NEW Pure Sine Wave might be so you can use a CPAP or a specific appliance (such as some of the coffeemakers, bread machines, or whatever)
.then that should be the deciding factor.
NOW
.if you have MORE demand for House Power, adding a second bank of batteries, "if you have room", would be an option or by adding a second inverter is probably a better value. You can piggyback .. save money on cables by hooking up to the terminals on your present inverter. Then, the Res Refer will be fine. You don’t need additional batteries and you have full power. There is a mountain of Information on Converting over to a RES REF in our files and conversation, just do a search and you will get all your questions answered. SO
.from now on, when the RES REF Discussion is posted, normal questions about which one , how to, and such
.cool
answer the the posters questions and offer whatever help he may ask for. When the discussion starts to morph into detailed recommendations and repeating and rehashing and discussions on how to re-invent the wheel please go offline with it and NOT here. All it does is just keep burning embers from dying
That’s the Moderator’s “Opinion”. Thanks for understanding that this subject is always long at the tooth
. Thanks
